GREENFIELD, Ind. (Oct.30, 2008) - With flu season just around the corner, Ameriana is teaming up with Community Hospital to begin the illness prevention. According to the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov), the single best way to prevent the flu is to be vaccinated each year.
Flu shots will be available on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon for $24 at Ameriana's Greenfield banking center located at 1810 North State Street for people 18-years old and older. Payment can be made via cash, check or Visa and MasterCard. Patients will be vaccinated on a "first come, first serve" basis.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, a committee of 15 experts in immunization selected by the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide advice and guidance to the Secretary, the Assistant Secretary for Health and the CDC, advise that the following people be vaccinated annually:
