GREENFIELD, Ind. (Nov. 18, 2008) - As the American population ages, more and more people find they need assistance taking care of their elderly parents. Ameriana will host a free discussion for the community about resources available to senior citizens who need assistance on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ameriana Greenfield banking center located at 1810 North State Street.
Vicki Beeson from Senior Helpers located at 635 N. State Street will speak about the aging process, provide information about being a caregiver and provide options that senior citizens and their children have when they need assistance.
"Our focus at Senior Helpers is to help people keep their independence in their own home as long as possible, especially until they are ready to make a decision about what they want to do next," said Beeson. "We just want to give people another option."
This event is one event Ameriana is hosting to reach out to the community and provide educational and informative forums about a variety of topics of interest to the community. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Reservations are encouraged, but are not required to attend.
