Bank Supports Local Nonprofits through Facebook

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (Nov. 10, 2010) - Ameriana Bank launched its Facebook page in early October as a resource for its customers and the communities it serves.  The page contains information about community events, finance articles, events hosted by Ameriana, contests - and a special promotion to support local non-profits.

During October, through the Ameriana "Likes" the Community promotion, Ameriana donated $2 per person who "Liked" its page to local partnering non-profits.  And with the promotion, Ameriana donated nearly $750 to the charities its fans selected as their "charity of choice."

Ameriana "Likes" the Community raised money for the following:

• $150 to the Youth Assistance Program (YAP) in Westfield
• $140 to the New Palestine Band Boosters
• $132 to the Humane Society of Hamilton County
• $130 to Big Brothers Big Sisters in New Castle
• $92 to the Shenandoah PTO in Middletown
• And smaller donations to other partnering organizations
