Ameriana Names Charisse Johnson AVP, Residential Mortgage Sales Manager
NEW CASTLE, Ind. (March 4, 2013) - Jerome J. Gassen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ameriana Bancorp (NASDAQ: ASBI), the holding company for Ameriana Bank, today announced that Charisse L. Johnson has been named the Bank's Assistant Vice President - Residential Mortgage Sales Manager. She will report to Janice L. Brehm, Senior Vice President - Mortgage Banking.
In her new position, Johnson will be responsible for supervising and producing the origination of residential loans being considered for loan commitments by the Bank. In addition, Johnson will recruit Mortgage Loan Originators and manage the mortgage origination team.
Johnson joins Ameriana from First Farmers Bank and Trust, where she was AVP Branch Manager and Mortgage Officer, and she brings 23 years of mortgage lending experience. Prior to her tenure, with First Farmers, she held positions with JP Morgan Chase, Security National Mortgage, Plaza Home Mortgage, Universal Mortgage Corporation, AccuBanc Mortgage, Temple-Inland Mortgage and Lisle Savings and Loan.
In 2008, Johnson was named Affiliate Member of the Year for the Indiana Association of Mortgage Brokers (INAMB). She is a member of the Anderson/Madison County Association of Realtors (AMCAR), the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce and the Elwood Chamber of Commerce. She resides in Cicero, Ind., with her son.
